TVR

The history of "TVR Engineering" began in a 1947, when the young engineer Trevor Wilkinson has produced the first two-seat car from an easy alloy on base Alvis Firebird chassis. The first "TVR" on the own chassis was made in a 1949. It had body from an easy alloy, and on with engine from Ford 100E with 1172 cc.
In a 1972 there was anonsed a "M" series, which one maintained "TVR" glory in 70-s. In a 1973 volume of production constituted up to 10 automobiles per one week. The automobiles of a "M" series issue with coupe, hatchback ("Taimar") and cabrio ("3000S") body. And it was even better than "Porsche 911 Turbo" with the 3-liter motor engine in acceleration.
In a 1980 was developed the model "Tasmin" with new chassis, body and german engine - Ford Cologne V6 with 2792 cubes and 160 hp. The style of a body of the car was developed by Oliver Winterbottom, which one has created also "Lotus Elite" and "Eclat". There were presented a coupe, cabrio and "2+2" models. However demand for this pattern has appeared below anticipated, and were again condensed the clouds above "TVR".
In a 1982 the "TVR" holder and chief became Peter Wheeler, the former chemist engineer, and one year after the new pattern was presented to public "TVR 350i" with "Rover V8" engine, developing power up to 190 hp. The similar model with Ford 2,8i engine has received the name "TVR 280i".
the New chapter in a history "TVR" was opened in a 1987 with birth of cars of a "S" series. Though they were similar to car of a "M" series, it was brand new car. They were completed by 2,9-liter Ford V6 engines from Granada Mk3.
